The African Gifted Foundation works to transform opportunities for gifted young women in STEM across Africa. Through its flagship school, the African Science Academy, we have spent the past ten years educating more than 300 students from 19 countries, supporting them to fulfil their potential as the continent's future STEM leaders.
Many of our students come from disadvantaged backgrounds and would not otherwise have access to this level of education. Through ASA, their talent is nurtured, their ambition is strengthened and new pathways are opened to leading universities and future careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Our students have gone on to study at leading universities around the world, with many securing scholarships and opportunities that would once have felt out of reach.
Our impact also extends beyond our own students. Through our teacher training work, we have supported 400 teachers across Ghana, benefiting an estimated 40,000 schoolchildren and helping to strengthen STEM education across the country.
